LuTango Chat is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers.

Data Collection and Storage

We do not collect your data. All conversations and settings are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your chat history, personal information, or browsing activity.

Specifically, the following data is stored locally on your machine using Chrome's storage API:

• Chat conversation history
• Your extension settings and preferences
• Any API keys you configure (stored securely in Chrome storage)

Third-Party Services

LuTango Chat uses OpenAI's API to provide AI-powered chat functionality. When you send a message:

• Your messages are sent directly to OpenAI through our proxy server for processing
• Our server acts only as a pass-through and does not log or store your conversations
• OpenAI's use of data is governed by their privacy policy at https://openai.com/privacy

Permissions

LuTango Chat requests the following permissions to function:

• activeTab & tabs: To access the current page's content when you request context-aware assistance
• storage: To save your conversations and settings locally on your device
• clipboardWrite: To allow copying AI responses to your clipboard
• scripting: To inject the chat interface into web pages

These permissions are used solely to provide the extension's functionality and are never used to collect or transmit your personal data.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API, you maintain complete control over your data. You can clear all stored data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome or using the extension's clear data feature.

Analytics

We do not use any analytics or tracking tools. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or any other telemetry data.

Children's Privacy

LuTango Chat is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we do not collect any data, this protection is built into the extension's design.
